Rachel!
Rachel, please contact me at mrskittymitch@gmail.com, so I can get your mailing address, and get your fry sauce shipped to you. Congratulations!
Yesterday, Mr. M and I took Maile for a special lunch at Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers. Now, Freddy's is a chain, but it's also pretty darn good (much better than any of the local places we've tried), and about as close as it gets to -- dare I say better than? -- our beloved In-N-Out Burger. We love it.
Every time we eat at a burger joint that features fry sauce (one part ketchup to two parts mayo, sometimes with seasoning), or even make our own at home, we fall into this discussion: Who invented fry sauce? My LDS friends insist that fry sauce is a Utah thing. Yes, the Utah-based Arctic Circle claims that they invented fry sauce, and Wikipedia seems pretty comfortable giving them credit for the delicious condiment. But most of our Northern California friends haven't ever set foot in The Beehive State, and have grown up with fry sauce. And, of course, Mr. M claims that fry sauce is actually his brainchild ... something he came up with as a boy. ;)
So, dear friends, on this US Election Day, we're going to put you to the question: Who invented fry sauce? For extra fun, one of you will be randomly selected to win two bottles of Hires Big H Fry Sauce. All you have to do is make sure you're a follower of my blog via Google Friend Connect, then comment below with who you think invented fry sauce. Be as serious, or as creative, as you like!

Good luck!
P.S. This is not a sponsored post, just a silly little something to lighten up Election Day, and to say thanks for being so awesome. Also, to share the fry sauce love. Because everyone needs fry sauce. And bacon.
Um...Fry sauce?!? Hires fry sauce??? I'm drooling right now.
ReplyDeleteYes, ma'am! Hehehehehe.
DeleteDon't forget to leave a comment with who gets your credit for its invention.
Confession: I have NEVER tasted fry sauce. Can I still be your friend? :)
ReplyDeleteAnd if i were eligible to enter, I would give the credit to your hubby. I mean, how can you argue with those kind of memories? haha too funny, loved this post :)
xoxo
Um, yes, of course you can! LOL!
DeleteI am super-bummed that Hires doesn't ship outside of the US. Maybe I'll have to send you some at some point, just so you can try it. ;)
I don't think I've ever heard of fry sauce! Wikipedia claims it is most found in Utah & Idaho, and I have never been further west of Colorado! My guess will be that it comes from Idahoans since they needed good toppings for all of their potatoes. Maile looks adorable with that fry in her mouth ;)
ReplyDeleteHaha! I like that, Rachel!
DeleteAnd thank you. :)
ADORABLE!

Thanks so much for following! Looking forward to getting to know you better.
We introduced our nephew to fry sauce when he visited from Indiana. He is hooked. We still send him bottles of the stuff for gifts. I make it from scratch at home. But there is a local burger place here called crown burger that has the best fried and fry sauce! xo
ReplyDeleteOoohhh, where are you located, Katherine?
Deleteoops forgot to say who gets credit... that's a toughie... I'm torn between artic circle and ,well your hubby LOL
ReplyDeleteHaha! Mr. M is loving that y'all are taking up for him.
DeleteI've actually never had fry sauce, but I saw it on Diners, Driver-Ins, and Dives. It looked amazing on there so I might have to give it a try. Are there any fry types that are superior to others where fry sauce is involved?
