"A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2013."

Maile: I love this photo for two reasons. First, because I see myself in Maile. There's no doubt that Maile looks like Tim. The expression on her face here, though, is all me. Second, because Maile wants so badly to be a little lady. She insisted on wearing a "princess headband" all day. She asked to put on pink Chapstick, "by yourself," which you can see clumped on her lower lip. What you can also see is a faint smudge of chocolate below her mouth; it's the chocolate that really makes me smile.

Maile: A dirty, scratched hand, from a long morning at the playground. One foot kicked up, relaxed. A table crumb, from an extra-crispy quesadilla -- dinner of choice, of late. Teddy, whom she loves, waiting ever-so-patiently for a handout.

Part of Che and Fidel's 52 Project.

Just one day left to enter our Kindred OAK giveaway! The Chevron Turban Twist Headband is also available in Newborn, Infant, Toddler, and Child sizes -- the perfect accessory for yourself, or any of the girls in your life, this spring.

    1. Maile certainly isn't short on intensity! I'm sure whatever she was thinking of seemed very important, in the moment. ;)
