Happy Hump Day! Today is a wonderful day because Tim is home. We have story time at the library this morning, and probably some grocery shopping this afternoon. I'm looking forward to enjoying some quality time with my little family. And with the weather warming up this week, you can guarantee we'll be having some park time, and maybe even do a little outdoor grilling!
Have a wonderful day!

Pretty bummed that The Met is being so snooty about this. Art is for everyone.

Woo hoo! I love me some positive feedback. ;)
DeleteMaile is just thrilled to have her dada home. In fact, she randomly says it throughout the day: "Dada hooooooome! Dada hooooooome!" It's the cutest.
Thanks for sharing all of these links- I`m headed to check out the other blogs you suggested.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was at the Met in December, we didn`t pay the $25 recommended fee, but only $50 between 4 of us. It is in very small print, though, and I have heard rumors that some of the people working there can be a bit aggressive about suggesting you pay the full amount, or making you feel a bit bad if you don`t. However, I didn`t know that it was actually mandated that they allow for free entry because of grants- good to know!

It's a slippery slope, isn't it? Of course, if you have the means to support the museum, you absolutely should give something. (I think of it like tipping your server, I suppose -- an admission amount that fits your budget, etc.) However, as you said, aggressive workers and volunteers are a different story; there is no reason someone on a limited budget should be shamed into giving up money to see all the treasures of the Met! I think $50 for four sounds perfectly reasonable ... still over $10 per person. Pretty standard!
DeleteMy only visit to the Met was for a middle school field trip, but I'd love to go back as an adult, and take Maile someday. :)
Hi Katie! Thanks for the quick links...I'm going to check out a few new-to-me blogs. I hope you and Tim and Maile are having a wonderful time together this week!
ReplyDeleteHey, Meagan! Great! Be sure to let me know which links you visit. :) Have a wonderful Easter weekend!
