We spent Saturday afternoon at Denver's Downtown Aquarium. What a beautiful place! Visiting an aquarium always makes me wish I would've followed my 4th grade dream of being a marine biologist. (My goals, and dream occupation, changed just about every year. When I was 4, I told people I would go to Harvard. I was accepted Brown, for the record -- haha -- but I never did apply to Harvard.) Too bad I'm scared of going into the ocean past my waist.
Anyway, the facility is just fabulous, and I'm seriously considering a 10,000 Leagues Under the Sea theme for our next baby's nursery. Just kidding. Sort of. And no, that wasn't an announcement, sillies!
PS - For those who have inquired, Maile's bow is by Monkey Loves Bownanas. Sweatshirt was free, but is Carter's. Shorts by Joe's Jeans. Socks were a gift, Gymboree. Shoes are thrifted Converse All-Stars.
How fun! I've been wanting to take Judah to the Baltimore or DC Aquarium :-)
ReplyDeleteYou absolutely should, Jess. We had so much at the aquarium!
DeleteI use to want to be a marine biologist too! Rachael Carson! :)
ReplyDeleteHooray! Oh my gosh, I went on this huge Silent Spring kick in college, LOL. It's so unfortunate that she died "before her time" ...
DeleteTHRIFTED All-Stars? How did you get so lucky?! I'm really going to have to be on the lookout now. :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love your pic of the seahorse...I adore those sweet creatures.
Yes, ma'am! We have this GREAT secondhand store for kids about 10 minutes down the road. I've found some treasures, let me tell ya! Hopefully you'll be able to find a pair for James soon.
DeleteThank you so much! I love seahorses, too. I wish I could've gotten a better photo, but there was a very rude couple hogging the seahorse tank viewing area. I may or may not have talked about it for about two days, haha -- but I was upset. They didn't have children, and I understand that childless couples want to enjoy the exhibits, too (zoos, aquariums, etc. have always been a favorite date of ours), but we made it pretty clear that we wanted to give Maile a turn to look, and they just ignored us ... UGH! Anyway, I'm not an inked girl myself (though I love Mr. M's tattoos), but I think if I was ever to put something permanent on myself, a seahorse might top that list! ;)
While I admire your snake pictures, they gave me goosebumps. Me + snakes = irrational actions. Just ask Clark about our second camping experience ;).
ReplyDeleteYou're the second person to say so! I'll tell you the same thing: I don't want to see a rattler in our backyard (which is a distinct possibility here), but snakes don't bother me, otherwise. :)
DeleteI love that picture of her looking up! She's just so precious as she grows, learns and explores!

Thanks, TJ! It's a lot of fun watching her brain's little cogs and wheels turn.
