Friday's Letters

Dear Bagels, Why can't you be calorie-free? I'm trying to watch the amount of dairy I take in, again, but good bagels are such a weakness of mine. Thankfully, I was able to resist buying a bag this week. ;)

Dear Ms. Allen, For my very first book club book, The Girl Who Chased the Moon is pretty good! I've never really been the "beach read" type, but I'm enjoying the lightness of this novel, and the Carolina setting. Plus, I was sure I had it figured out, until the Chapter 6 twist -- I'm playing detective again! And I'm in love with Julia's character.

Dear Colorado, I'm in a mood to eat fresh, but it's really hard to eat salads and cold fruit when it's 27 degrees, and blowing snow outside! I know we desperately need the precipitation, but I don't hafta like it. Please warm up soon, at least until November. Even rain would be better than snow.

Dear Vikings, I can't get enough, and I'm so excited the show has been renewed for another season! Now I want to know if Michael Hirst (of The Tudors fame) will throw the storyline of the historic Ragnar Lodbrok sagas out the window, or just draw it out as long as humanly possible. Guys, I'm such a historical drama nerd. Rome, The Tudors, The Borgias ... I have loved them all.

Dear Jack Johnson, You gave me and Maile the best evening. With the second Boston Marathon bombing suspect at large, it was hard to step away from my phone for awhile, but children have a sense of these things, and it needed to be done. So we dished up dinner, chased each other around the kitchen island, and opened the back door to the surprise beautiful evening outside. In Between Dreams is still one of my favorite albums of all time, and I don't care if that's cliche!

How about you, friends? Now that the second suspect has been caught, how is your night going? Do you feel relieved? Emotional? Angry? Please feel free to share what's on your heart, in the comments.

Linking up with Ashley, of The Sweet Season.

  1. i feel relieved for the people of Boston. i can't imagine what their days have been like in fear that they were still out there. nobody should have to live in fear like that. yet i still feel sad for the families that still have that loved one gone, regardless of the manhunt being over.
this is has already been a crazy year with the weather. it's nearing the end of April and we got a cold front. what gives?

  2. Love your girl's top! And I'm glad to hear that the suspects have been caught before they carry out any more further damage to society.

May God bless all victims and their loved ones. Xoxo.
