There's nothing quite like watching the GI who, once upon a time ... was your biggest crush ever, flipped out on one of his best friends (on said friend's birthday) for making you miss your curfew, helped you through college homesickness with 5-hour phone conversations when he had to get up for PT at the crack of dawn, proposed in the snow by moonlight, and dumped ice water on you while you were in the shower your first week of married life ... become Dada to your sweet baby. It is, quite possibly, the most fulfilling experience of my life. I'm just floored that our tiny daughter has this wonderful man as her father. A man who loves her more than I could do justice to, with my silly little words here. A man who can give her wings -- because that's super important.

I love you, my love. And your mother who raised you right.

Today, I'm linking up with Becky, of Apples of Gold, for her encouraging "Let's Be Real" feature.

    1. Thank you so much, Angela! Love how you put it, as well. Rockstar guys! :) I might've brought up the "Baby Farm" sign to Mr. M again this morning, and he thought it was super cute. ::sigh:: Men! Looking forward to getting to know you better!

  4. Tears. I love how men can be so manly and masculine, but once they have kids, you get to see that sweet, innocent side to them. Nothing better, I tell ya!

    1. Yes! Tim also did Maile's hair for the first time. Something he swore up and down that he'd never do, when I showed him a Facebook picture of a friend's husband doing their two little girls' hair.

    1. Awww, thanks, TJ! We were married for almost 4 years by the time Maile came along, to give us some time to ourselves, but I don't think there could've been better timing for her arrival. :)

  10. What a guy! Loved this! It was the perfect way to sum up your entire relationship in just a few sentences. Made me wanna know your entire story! =) I've dumped cold water on my husband before and I'm still waiting for him to retaliate. =) Thank you for linking up this week!

    1. Thank you, Becky! I've learned not to try to prank Mr. M. He's insanely good at practical jokes, and I'm ... well ... not. Haha. Anything I could think of would be repaid tenfold!
