Links for Your Weekend

Maile, telling me the color of each leaf in her hands. Her infinity scarf is c/o Bizzy B Crafts. Owl cardigan c/o The Wishing Elephant.

Whoop-whoop, it's Friday! And Tim and I get our first date night since May. MAY. We're soooo excited! This one should be especially fun too, as we'll be celebrating a friend's birthday at a new-to-us restaurant. Tomorrow we'll be heading to our favorite local toy store for a holiday season kickoff party, with crafts, games, and prizes. Maybe it's a bit early, but I'm so excited about all these warm, quaint things to do with Maile over the next two months. You can always follow along with us on Instagram, too! Sunday is for football around here, and a new part of the fun is watching Maile cheer along with the TV crowd. :)

Here are some links to things I'm loving around the web, for you to peruse this weekend. Enjoy!

A fabulous, honest blog.

J-Law being awesome, as usual.

Have you checked out my sponsor Kindred Oak yet?

My friend's family just started a new business called Insoles and Beyond. Worth checking out, especially if you -- like the majority of mamas -- are on your feet most of the day!

The twice-yearly "N-Sale" is happening, and though sales (in-store or online) tend to overwhelm me, I always hear about the amazing deals nabbed at this one.

Still tweeting, still not sure I'm 'doing it right.' But hey, I'm there!

The breastfeeding post. Thought-provoking, and I really enjoyed it.

Love the Bento lunches Meagan puts together for her adorable kiddos. Meagan also happens to have one of my favorite blogs!

I can't stop listening to all the amazing playlists curated by Anthropologie's official Spotify account, Anthropologie On Rotation. Especially "Turkey to Table."

I found myself feeling kind of prickly after reading this piece on parenting. Thoughts?

I successfully applied gel eyeliner for the first time, following this easy tutorial. Not sure I'll go back to my pencils!

17 Things That Lady Gaga Looks Like. Hilarious! (13 is my favorite.)

We made Korean Beef this week. Simple, delicious, and a great 'base' recipe you could do a million other things with, too!

And finally, this gorgeous nursery! (Nope, not a gender hint -- we're just as clueless as you are right now!)

Maile & Mama

A few things that I'm currently loving, from around the web ...

1. I recently went back to blonde (the hue my tresses have been most of my life), and I'm loving the summery change. | 2. The most adorable knit elephant dolls from Blabla. I can just hear Maile now: "Elephant a princess!" | 3. Summer necklace. | 4. I need to finish Maile's room ASAP. This bookshelf styling, with little girls in mind, is perfect. | 5. I've been wanting to start a gratitude journal. Isn't the leather detail here beautiful? | 6. It's settled. If I had a scooter, it would be this one. And one for Maile, to match, please! | 7. The sight of this handwoven vintage Kilim rug has seriously made me rethink the styling of Maile's room. I've come too far to turn back now, but ohhhhhhhhh, would I ever love this piece in our home! | 8. I'm almost -- almost -- ashamed to admit how much I covet these Liberty print Nikes. I'm totally behind the sneaker wedge trend ... I'm just not sure I can pull it off. | 9. Baseball season is in full swing, and Maile has outgrown last year's gear. A pink Giants hoodie? Perfect!

Midweek Links

Maile, a year ago, today. Where has my baby gone?!

Another Wednesday ... How is it Wednesday already? Am I right? And this is going to sound odd, but as I type this, I feel like it's almost Christmas again. Not. even. joking. Tim's next days off, we'll be flying to California for a family visit (and a super exciting college graduation). It will be Maile's 2nd birthday. My parents and baby sister will be here. Then, a camping trip. Our Giants will be in town to play the Rockies. Next, a Midwest visit. Tim's birthday. Our wedding anniversary. My birthday. And before you know it, it will be Christmas! I know. I'm nuts.

In other news, these days off have been good ones. Nothing too important, just very busy, and full of dirt -- the digging in the garden kind, which I love. Luckily, the rest of the week promises to be wonderful as well. I'm looking forward to another Saturday "day-date" with Tim, too. Iron Man 3, anyone? Yes. I'm not the kind of girl who will go see just any movie with a number behind it, though. This is important.

This will make you laugh ... Check out this video of people at Coachella pretending they've heard of bands that don't exist -- cringe-worthy. Also, hilarious!

Midweek Links

Hey there, friends! Thank you so much to all of you who tweeted, and left sweet comments on Instagram and Facebook yesterday. Maile is fine. I'm fine. I'm not sure why it took me so long, but I finally figured out that she was having a horrible reaction to the antibiotic I started Monday night, for a sinus infection. Although Keflex has a low classification for affecting breastfed little ones, Maile is apparently very sensitive to it ... and it messed me up pretty good, too. Because Maile is still nursing, I try my best not to take medication, but untreated sinus infections can land me in the hospital, so I took a chance.

Today I'm planning on picking up a Neti pot, and some ear oil, to see if I can kick this crud naturally! (I've read extensively on Neti pots, and I figure, at worst, it just won't work.) I don't really want to take another antibiotic right now, however mild, and risk messing up Maile's little system again; she's just too little.

So, that's the yuck that's happening around here. We'll be back to our regularly scheduled programming soon, but while Maile and I rest up, here are some links to get you through Hump Day!
