"A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2013."
Maile: Nearly every day she naps, with a very, very special family member by her side.
And although I've used this project as a way to document our human child, we consider our animals to be family members, too ...
Teddy: He was meant to be a Mitchell. A 10 month-old puppy with "special needs," who was adopted, and then given up by 2 different families. We were his last chance, and we knew immediately that he was ours (or, that we were his). Teddy has now been with us for almost 6 years. If there is a dog that can make me believe animals have souls, it is he.
Part of Che and Fidel's 52 project.
You and your family are such sweet and kind souls to look after your dog. Must not be easy for you because you also need to look after your girl.
ReplyDeleteBtw its really adorable when a dog and toddler sleep and hang out tgt right? :)
Thanks, Marie!
DeleteWe actually have two dogs, a cat, and two frogs! I suppose it is a little extra work taking care of the non-human babies, but I've always been an animal lover, so I don't mind.
And yes, I think kids and their pets are the sweetest things!
Oh I adore this photo, so beautiful and just the sweetest moment captured!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Jennifer!
