I never thought that I would be a cloth-diapering mama. Apart from the fun colors and prints, I thought it sounded like a whole lot of extra work, that it sounded disgusting, and that it was something only uber-crunchy moms did. But this lovely lady made it seem easy, and she kept telling me how much money she was saving by cloth diapering. If there's a hook, for me, it's saving money. But it wasn't until Maile was a few months old, and we'd had it with her sensitive little bum always looking so awful, that we decided to make the switch. And, still quite skeptically, I might add.
I used Parenting magazine's Best Cloth Diapers guide to see what brand I thought might fit our baby, and our budget. Rumparooz seemed like the perfect fit, and they are. Nearly two years later, we still have the same 24 cloth diapers we originally invested in, and it's only now that we should probably start adding some more inserts to our stash. (They also recently added a few new colors and prints to their collection, that I wouldn't mind having ... I just need to save some pennies!) In fact, I'm such a Rumparooz fan, that I've flat-out refused to try any other brands. As the saying goes, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
I love all the fun patterns and bright colors. I love that we've never had a blowout. I love that Maile is comfortable in them. And I love that they've saved us so. much. money.
PS - When you're a mom, another load of laundry really isn't that big of a deal. And, let's face it: poop is poop. ;)
This is not a sponsored post. I simply wanted to share a bit about a product we love, and are asked about often. Second image is being used with permission.
Cute cloth diapers!! And her hair is cute too. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Marie! :) Have a great weekend!
Deletei always used disposable diapers, just really because that's all i knew about. none of this fun, practical cloth diapers were available or maybe just not as known to me. wish i had though cause diapers are soooo expensive!!
ReplyDeleteDiapers ARE so expensive. We're probably saving close to $1000 a year by using cloth (not even exaggerating); it's madness.
DeleteYay! Thanks for the link love. You can find my newest stuff over on Wordpress.

The cutest diapers I ever did see!
ReplyDeleteRight?! :)
DeleteI would love to be able to cloth diaper, but I'll definitely have to go back to work and we're not sure about the childcare situation we'll be in at this point. If we are able to swing cloth diapering, I'll definitely take your review into consideration.
ReplyDeleteGreat! I know moms who use both. Disposables for daycare, for example, but cloth at home. Even mixing it up, I'm sure it'd still save you a bundle of money!
DeleteVery nice - I am equally as happy with my particular brand of cloth diaper (I shan't mention it lest I detract from your review ;)). Isn't it lovely to make the switch and not look back? I recently went on a 3 month holiday with my son and had no choice but to use disposables. I couldn't wait to get back to his cloth diapers (laundry included)!
ReplyDeleteHehe. Thanks, Audrey! Other cloth-diapering mama friends definitely use some great brands, too -- I'm just afraid that if I start branching out, I'll enter a wormhole, never to return, and have to try them all. ;)
DeleteWhen Maile was really young, I took our cloth diapers with us when we traveled. As she goes through them more quickly now, though, we do disposable if we're going somewhere for any length of time. Like you, I always love getting back to her cloth!
Those are adorable... just another accessory ;)
ReplyDeleteand eco friendly too!

Definitely one way of looking at it! ;) Thanks for stopping by, Olivia.
DeleteWe always used cloth for Cruz too, and both Trevor and I LOVED it. But now with being here, it hasn't worked out with the issue of not having our own washer here and handwashing being a bust, and we have had to switch to disposable until we get back (or until he's potty trained) and I have been so disappointed about that. I cannot wait to get him back into cloth!! (and then to get our newborn into cloth asap too!)
ReplyDeleteLike you said, poop is poop! Cloth really is not that much more work, or that much more gross at all. We always recommend it to everybody we know, sometimes kind of forcefully, haha! And their little tushies looks so darn cute, so it really is a win/win :)

Love this! I didn't realize that Cruz started in cloth. Just one more reason you're awesome!

ReplyDeleteAnd STOP IT with the dog & babe pics!! You take the best ones I've ever seen.
Hahaha! Thank you, Sally!
DeleteCUTE BLOG! We love the rumparooz diapers out of all of them so far =)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Shannon!
DeleteAnd what a small world this is. My sister (who lives in NC) sent me a fab t-shirt from your store recently, and I get asked about it all the time! (It's the "Cloth Diapering, Breastfeeding, Baby Wearing SUPERSTAR" shirt.) Thanks so much for stopping by!
